“Emotional intelligence allows us to navigate setbacks with resilience.

It encourages us to learn and grow from our challenges.

2 years ago, I was hit with a setback that felt like I was at the end of the road.

But I navigated that storm.

Looking back, I realise that it’s all in the mind.

Introducing 2 power players:
the Growth Mindset and the Fixed Mindset.

Brought to life by psychologist Dr. Carol Dweck of Stanford University,
↳ these mindsets are game-changers.

The Growth Mindset is based on the belief that our basic qualities
↳ can be cultivated through our effort, our strategies, and help from others.

The Fixed Mindset is based on the idea that our abilities are carved in stone.

The Growth Mindset is synonymous with higher achievement;
The Fixed Mindset with lower success rates.

Here’s what the research shows:

Those with a growth Mindset tend to:
⇢ See feedback as an opportunity for growth
⇢ Understand intelligence can be developed
⇢ Draw inspiration from others’ success
⇢ Welcome challenges with open arms
⇢ View failures as temporary setbacks
⇢ Use feedback as learning tools
⇢ See effort as a path to mastery
⇢ Invest effort to learn and grow
⇢ Cherish lifelong learning

Those with a fixed Mindset tend to:
⇢ Consider intelligence and talent as static
⇢ Hide imperfections to avoid judgement
⇢ View feedback as personal criticism
⇢ Feel threatened by others’ success
⇢ Dodge challenges to avoid failure
⇢ Dismiss feedback from others
⇢ Deem effort as futile
⇢ Give up easily

It’s not about choosing between:
⇥ the Growth Mindset and
⇥ the Fixed Mindset.

It’s about understanding that our mindset shapes:
⇥ our attitudes,
⇥ behaviours, and
⇥ ultimately, our destiny.

Let’s believe in our ability to adapt, grow, and lead.
The journey towards a Growth Mindset is abstract.
But the rewards are concrete.

It’s time to shape our future.
It’s time to take control.
It’s time to grow.
